Why Does Asking AI Directly for BaZi Often Fail?
Many people have tried asking AI to calculate their BaZi directly, and the results are usually terrible. Three main reasons:
1. AI Can't Accurately Calculate the Chart
The first step of BaZi is converting the birth date and time into the Four Pillars of Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches. This requires passing three hurdles:
- Solar Term Transition: BaZi changes months based on solar terms, and the year changes at Li Chun (Start of Spring). Someone born on February 3 in the Gregorian calendar may still belong to the Chou (Ox) month of the previous year. Without a built-in perpetual calendar, LLMs often miscalculate the Month Pillar by one notch.
- True Solar Time Correction: The time on your ID card is administrative time zone, not the true solar time needed for the chart.
